After losing yet another cartridge from a rifle sling bandolier, I came up with this fix.
There's a short description of the project beneath the video on YouTube. But basically, it's this: I took a bandolier apart and put snaps in the upper layer of leather (offset from the cartridge loops). Then I put the other part of the snaps into a strip of leather.
After sewing the bandolier back together, this is the result. It still slides onto a rifle sling, but the cartridges can't come out of (or be put into) the loops until the leather strip is unsnapped and moved out of the way.
