So Obama is going to issue an executive order preventing federal agencies from asking about criminal history on job applications. Outlets have been taking about it this morning and I can't help but think how hypocritical it is. They are basically saying once you've served your debt to society it shouldn't matter but at the same time they are trying to ram universal background checks down our throats. Perhaps Dave Workman will write one of his awesome articles about this double standard.

That's because Obama is about to begin releasing 10 thousand or more Felons out of prison
yeah thats exactly what we need ....... 10,000 felons applying for govt jobs

they could have been his sons you know:rolleyes:

whole new meaning to the laws in 24 states......3 strikes and your out

I'm all in favor of it, with one caveat - get rid of background checks on all firearms purchases, in all states, and then he can have his way.

You're right, complete hypocrisy.

its just federal agencies. Its not like we are going to say "oh no! he is going to ruin the upstanding, award-winning and noble ATF!" "Oh My! The IRS will never be the same!"

What I was reading is slightly different-
- the question about convictions won't be on the application, it will not happen until later in the hiring process.

And, IMO, many of those being released should never have been convictions anyways. Fines - yes, taking away their drugs - sure. Let us end this needless war.

I was thinking things might actually improve ;)

with a Recidivism rate of 76.6% here in the US
he is just throwing away billions of our money by re processing these same felons! while buying liberal socialist votes for the party with the tax payers money

there is also a sizable percentage of these drug dealing felons that are not US citizens being released ...back to business as usual:rolleyes:

change the drug laws if you want things to improve, otherwise they will be back being reprocessed into the system at taxpayers expense

Portland Mayor Charlie Hales is also pushing for making private sector businesses do it in Oregon.

When I was a Parole Officer, I always encouraged my first time offenders who had potential to try to get their convictions expunged after their Probation ended, and used that as an incentive for them to turn their lives around. This "ban the box" stuff is unnecessary for those who have not been convicted of serious crimes, and have truly gone straight.

We have an unconvicted felon running for president, so what's the big deal

They can't ask on the application, they can ask in the interview.

They want to make sure the bad guys/girls aren't weeded out so quickly.

It doesn't ban asking later on.

This is going to extend to non federal jobs too. Koch brothers are actually working with Obama on this. That way living wage jobs can be replaced with federally compensated (Us paying for cons to take our jobs) work rehabilitation program. Obama can release people who sell Crack to our kids to take our jobs and we get to pay for it. just wait. We ain't seen nothing yet. It just has to warm your heart that those thugs don't have to be in jail no more, no?

keep in mind they arent all JUST drug felons as they claim....in this country a huge percentage (most all) cases are plea-bargained .......in many cases the drug charges will be the least of their felonies:rolleyes:

EXACTLY, waste the time of all businesses in OregoN to make the convicted felon feel a little bit better before they is told they don't get the job cause they is a convicted felon.......o_O
