I wonder to what extent Oregon gun laws applicable to public schools also apply to private schools, and if any private school is planing to hire security guards or allow teachers CC.

This whole arguement is silly. Based on the Thousands of deaths caused by doctors every year should we install a medical review board in every doctors office and hospital operating room in the country? How about the number of violent deaths in convience stores across the country should we install a armed gaurd in every minimart? How about the number of hwy construction workers killed every year by people running traffic control devices and signs should we have what tanks guarding work zones.

The chances of a child being killed by an active shooter (not another gangbanger etc.) in the USA is so tiny you would be better off not allowing your child on a school bus (the safest vehicle on the road) or make sure they travel in a faraday cage so as to not risk being hit by lightning.

Sandy Hook was a Horrible tragedy. BUT and this is coming from a grandpa of 5-6 year old grandaughters you can't stop crazy you can't live your live in a panic room. You have to get past this silly idea that some idea or change in behaviour is going to some how prevent this from ever happening again.

Great article. I have seen adds for online public school. All the arguments against it are without merit, such as the child's social development. Got news for ya. The social aspect of public school only works for about 10% of the kids. If you want your kids to have social skill, public school is not the place to learn.

Really..........you believe this ultra right wing BS?
Unions have absolutely nothing to say about what is taught or not taught in most public schools in the US. These curriculum issues are decided by elected school boards and school administrators and they tell the teachers just what they are required to teach. And none of the
elected school boards and school administrators are members of the union.

nobody thinks guns 'cause mass murder' thats ridiculous from the start. the argument is whether hi cap mags and aw in general have any value to society. some people think they dont, some people think they do.
