A Durham teen died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Durham Police Chief Jose Lopez said

Lopez said a handgun was found in the car and that Huerta was still handcuffed from behind. He said the wound was self-inflicted.

"The medical examiner's office has confirmed that Jesus Huerta died from a gunshot wound to his head," Lopez said. "Whether that wound was accidental or intentional is unknown at this time."

They put a guy, hand cuffed from behind in a police car, and didn't notice he had a gun. And somehow this guy gets that weapon pointed at his head.


Bad cop - for letting someone under arrest (wouldn't be cuf'd in a car with out being under arrest, right) have possession of a weapon.

She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicating substance and willful obstruction of law enforcement officers by use of threats or violence - a felony.

So she gets violently assaulted by the police and then a felony record. Then the scumbag chief basically says don't believe your own eyes. In other words, the police state needs thugs.

Blitzkrieg - you may want to rethink your attitude and course of action. Number one is to avoid contact with them at all costs. Never call them, never ask anything of them. Avoid situations that would increase any probabilities of ever having to be exposed to them.

If nothing else, so you are around for your wife and family. You do not live in a free country with some bad apples. You live in a police state where they vast majority will cheer on your beating and false charges.

Logically and rationally, your best course of action is submission and compliance. Your pride and need to prove yourself may someday be your downfall.

As the Sheriff in Blazing Saddles said, "Oh Lawd, do what he say, do what he say!". Just avoid at all costs, but if forced into having to be in the company of them - comply as any slave would.

It is a whole lot easier to throw someone around when they are in fear of going to jail. 99% do not fight back even as the cops scream "Stop Resisting!"

It is a shame what LEOs often do to people and then get away with. Sure, some people deserve what they get if they try to kill a cop or another person, but for the most part all I see or hear about is cops being criminals and often worse then criminals, and getting away with it. The American police force is just full of law breakers, criminals and thugs. Day after day we read the headlines, we watch the new videos of more cops being bad. And to think that the other cops actually expect us to continue to put our trust in them? Really?

I really did not want to get into this thread. I know enough good LE that I really dislike disparaging
all for a few.
But this is becoming a disgrace to our nation.

Yes, we've been through this before. This time the "authorities" changed things up and used there, uh, penetrating thoroughness, on a woman.

Nothing about this was right. As we move through the sequence, remember that each step after #3 was taken because no drugs or any other illegal item or substance was found on her person.

The woman was pulled stopped at random for additional treatment after coming back into El Paso from Juarez. Unlike our previous story, she didn't even roll a stop sign, allegedly.
The border agent inserted his finger between the woman's buttocks when there was no reason to search her for contraband. (I have no idea if this was a male or female agent.)
Because an alleged drug dog paid attention to her, she was assumed to have drugs in her person.
So she was strip searched by agents searching all private parts with a flashlight (male or female?)
She was forced to take a laxative and empty her bowels in front of witnesses.
Dr. Christopher Cabanillas ordered an X-ray of her abdomen.
Dr. Michael Parsa performed an involuntary gynecological exam and rectum probe.
Dr. Christopher Cananillas ordered a CT scan of her pelvis and abdomen.

According to the Reason blog:

"After the CT scan," the complaint says, "a CBP [Customs and Border Patrol] agent presented Ms. Doe with a choice: she could either sign a medical consent form, despite the fact that she had not consented, in which case CBP would pay for the cost of the searches; or if she refused to sign the consent form, she would be billed for the cost of the searches." She refused, and later the hospital sent her a bill for $5,000, apparently the going rate for sexual assault and gratuitous radiological bombardment.

So in the United States, if a dog barks at you, you can be subjected to humiliation, torture, and blackmail or fines even though no charges are ever filed. No totalitarian nightmare would be complete without complicit regime doctors and this story fulfills the requirement.

The ACLU claims that the doctors insisted that it was entirely routine to perform these invasive searches and "medical" procedures upon unwilling subjects whenever the heroes of border patrol requested it. Yet it is illegal to do so without a warrant.

This entire way of "enforcing" the law needs to be stopped.
