"WASHINGTON — As the Senate began debate on a number of gun measures on Wednesday, Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the majority leader, broke his long faith with the National Rifle Association and said he would vote for a ban on assault weapons."

What the hell is going on? This kind of proves the point that there are no Republicans or Democrats just people who ignore their constituents.

It isn't left or right. There are several Democrats who have stated they will not vote for this bill or any bill that removes gun rights.

Perhaps we are witnessing the birth of new political parties? It would be kind of exciting to see the rise of a few new political parties. It has happened in the past, maybe it will again.

It would be far better if The People threw that political party nonsense out the window and voted for their conscience.

This! There's no real difference between the Republican and Democrat parties, only carefully manufactured facades that they show you.

Reid is a Dem., but he will lose his seat next election for the AWB vote. He barley won his last election. Pretty safe bet the senate will lose a D and be replaced with a R.
