We all used to be able to carry any kind of gun or weapon but as everyone knows mostly all of our rights got slowly chipped away by our Communist govt.
Im not thinking for a second that all of us are suddenly gonna start getting our right s back. Or that our govt didnt this for some particular reason to suit their needs. But hey. what the ****. It great!! Im going to take my class this tuesday. Wish I didnt have to but I am american and should be able to exercise my right to bear arms.

Fixed it for ya

sorry, wrong word and underlying concept. Government as we see it today is so far from calitalist.... in any case NO government ought to ever be "capitalist", as the enterprise of investing capital into the means of production is outside the proper bailiwisk of all government. Such a government would be socialist. Hey, that's about what we've got these days......

communism is a particular form of socialism... all communism is socialism, but not all socialism is communism.

government should be none of the above..... most of the activities of our present regime are weil outside the realm of responsibility and function of any government. And that includes (but is not limited to) the present systems of licensing most licensed things.. cars, guns, chemicals, businesses, sewer systems, off-road vehicles, people (to drive, work, carry arms, etc)

I never needed a license to ride a horse or bicycle, didn't need one to operate a boat until the last couple of years here in this nanny state of Washington, and shouldn't need one for much of anything now.... but we've allowed the nannies to establish their Mother May I games... and play along with them. Time to turn them out and put in some new ones who will undo much of this tyranny.

After 35 or so states tell the feds to go pack sand on semis and such, then states can begin to overturn the 1934 and 1968 acts with state soverenity and solidarity

Even the pro-2A legal experts think that the Firearms Freedoms Acts aren't worth the paper they are written on, either because the Commerce Clause of the Constitution takes precedence, or because the FFA mix both Commerce Clause and Taxation (NFA) items.

That's why the politicians happily pass these bills, and the NRA is not supporting it. They can all act surprised when the first court case is lost and the Supreme Court declines to review it.

I believe that whomever carry have to have at least little training or knowledge about handguns. Open for everyone without the training is making me nervous. Maybe just me!!!

seriously? its an open carry state, as most states are, requiring no training? its just allowing for concealed carry. ITS ALLOWING CITIZENS TO EXERCISE THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT WITHOUT GOVERNMENT REGULATION OR INTERFERENCE.

Cops will arrest you in your own driveway if you are intoxicated

As taxpayers we all own the public roads so that does not wash for me

On more that 360 acres of property, posted "no trespassing" sings, a gate....
Without a warrant for probable cause, the police will not come on your property if they see a vehicle swerving.

Your statement is very vague and is untrue unless you are standing at the end of your driveway which the public has an egress right too. And you would have to demonstrate effects of intoxication; beligerent, stumbling around, etc...

Yup and with any barrier such as a gate, cord between posts all the way around, and no trespassing signs up, they have to ask permission to come onto your private property without a warrant. It doesn't matter if you are at the edge of your own private property, as long as there is a physical barrier between you and the public.

OK,
As far as a drivers license being a privilege. Would any of you think it proper for people to be able to fly an airplane without training or a license? I think a small amount of training is in order for somebody to operate large, fast, complicated, dangerous mechanical devices around, and interacting with large amounts of civilians.
It is legal for juveniles under 16 to operate farm equipment on public roads with no license, but it has to be within a set distance from their farm and for farming purposes.

I think it is important to remember and differentiate what is a given right, constitutional or otherwise, and what is a privilege. There is a huge difference in the legal application of the two.

And one last thing...
I am a firm believer in one type of gun law. Firearm enhancement laws. If you commit a serious crime with any firearm it should automatically add ten or more years to your sentence. Make gun law's that punish the criminal's without restricting the law abiding citizen's right's and ability, to own, use, posses and enjoy firearms.

It's not going to stop at mere paper.. this is for real and eventually some brave sheriff is going to activate the militia and stand up to the fed beast. I will answer that call as will many of my buddies.. then it will go viral

I don't think much of the NRA and this just furthers my opinion

It has happened many times.. the case you refer to is unusual, as most people live in cities or suburbs

My only problem with that is what is considered a gun crime. A lot of time self defence is ruled a crime. What if a person violates a law that forbids the discharge of firearms in a city limits. Should that carry a 10 year sentence? lol

I said serious crime, not gun crime. Please pay attention if your going to comment on my opinion. lol

Like almost everything, it couldn't be simple or black and white. If it were up to me, I would say most serious felonies like robberies and assaults.

The self defense issue is a very good point. It's often a fine line between self defense and assault,or even murder.
There has to be more serious punishment for armed felon's.
Example) Drug dealers. Get caught selling Methamphetamine,a year in jail.Get caught selling meth with a pistol in your pocket, eleven years in jail. Strong deterrent to leave the gun home.

Other than the self defense scenario, I can't think of any good reason not to give felons committing serious crimes a weapon enhancement.

I am going to support and add to this position.
Any violent serious crime commited with a firearm should be enhanced.
In addition, ANY crime commited should be sentenced and served.
Served in FULL. No time off for good behavior. Time can be ADDED to a sentence but not taken away.
1 year meth sentence is 1 year. Don't behave in jail....add time.
11 year meth sentence with firearm enhancement is 11 year sentence. If you don't behave in jail.....add time.
Life sentences....you stay until you are no longer living.
Death sentence....3 years of appeals and then death.

Don't want repeat offenders....don't have repeat offenders on the streets.

Hey, no worries. There is a lot of confusion and "spin" out there regarding a lot of the "hot button" words these days. I believe it is important to keep them sorted out most times.... once wrong ideas get a foothold, they're AWFULLY hard to make to let go. I've seen a lot of "capitalist bashing" of late, but, when one takes a closer look, its not capitalism being panned.... its usually some other form of nasty "ism"..... its almost like capitalism has become a swear word... or at least something used to terminate a discussion. (maybe that's a holdover from the hippie days? "capitalist pigs" was tossed about like road apples.... and whoever said it first usually won the knockdown)

Yeah, I've been caught with my own size large boot in my own mouth more than once... I just shrug it off, remember my faux pas, and move on, hoping to not forget and drop that apple again.

Life goes on.......
