What are the rules in LA regarding AK-47 rifles being transferred there?

Has to be featureless, meaning no flash hider, adjustable stock, vertical foregrip, barrel shroud or pistol grip. In their traditional configurations AKs are almost entirely featureless minus the pistol grip. The FFL I work with will accept a standard AK with the pistol grip removed.

From my research, the only part of the rifle that was produced in Vietnam was the Teak wood used for the stock. That was enough for ATF to shut down importation of them. The number of rifles that made it into the US aren't very clear. I've read it was about 600.

Same company made a correct ww2 #4mk2 but of course with the viet made wood it's not importable. Very rare for any of these to be seen in the u.s.
