I have been watching her auctions the last few years, on average 15 to 50 % over book value on firearms and close to that on most vehicles. Its usually 2 guys wanting the same thing and who has deeper pockets.
I gotta go just to watch the show ; )

Haven't been to an auction in years. Especially one with guns available.
It seems to me that it would be easy to get caught up in the excitment of the moment and let my desire to own get the best of me.
My goals would be pretty typically. Something to shoot that will hold or increase value independent of gun laws.

I'm thinking that if I do go I should me prepared to:

1. Have a list of items to target (pun intended).

2. Set a dollar limit on each item.

3. Have knowledge of the value of the item before bidding.

4. Any other suggestions __________

I can handle the first two and I think I can tone down the excitment, however, what can I do to find out about value a gun. Where can I go to get info?

GunBroker successfull auctions?
Collectors books?
Word of mouth?
Any ideas would be appreciated?

Thanks for your help.

PS. Found some BlueBook and gun value sites. Will keep looking. If I get serious about multiple gun purchases will have to look into subscriptions.
