Wow.
Now I'm betting that guys like him will be replaced by people who's thinking is more in line with the socialists at the top of DOJ/ ATF.

This is what we should all be afraid of replacing decent people with mindless puppets that will do the admins bidding without question. Running over people with tanks in China, having a quota to shoot exactly 5000 people a pop regardless of if they have committed a crime (Stalin), etc. etc... it is terrifying...

In Ukraine the populace will literally Kill each other over a chance to join the military because that is how they get money to purchase food for their family's.
I worked with a young man from Ukraine and his brother was killed this way.

You better believe those soldiers will do what they are told.

Pay attention to our soaring inflation, literal breakdown of society and direction our country is headed. In spite of all us "1st time gun owners" the table is slanted towards confiscation.

Not looking good.

I apologize for the rant.

Psssh... You do you man. Ain't no one hating for speaking the truth and by that I mean me. Everyone else can pee up a rope!

Yeah I'm not looking forward to it. Its looking like we will be getting it from all angles.
No power = no plentiful water on tap.
No food/ no money (even if you could afford food)
no money / no gas. = no jobs.
they will use all excuses to say well we need to keep the wheels of gov turning so we eat first you later. We work while you don't. Well leave you some scraps we promise. (Oh but only if you jab up)
and probably every single world gov will pull this same hat trick around the same time and go to war because there's pretty much no other option.

These politicians are the biggest buffoons ever.

Meh, all sound and fury, signifying nothing. It's one letter from someone that has only worked there 18 years, I have underware older than that

Plus it's Ammoland, not exactly a bastion of accurate reporting, and the part about:
"He explains that agents are expected to set aside their personal and political beliefs but says that the same standard doesn't apply to the entire Department of Justice."
Right, that is called 'having a job' and is no different this year than 3 years ago, and no different than working anywhere. And again, it's one short timer that we know nothing about.

To be clear, I am not saying that I support the actions of the ATF, or that I don't believe that the focus of the agency changes with the administration (kind'a the point of changing the administration ;) ) just that this isn't the beginning of tanks rolling through the streets or a rapid decent into totalitarianisms, it's just one dude slamming the door on his way out

Only 18 years? 18 years in any law enforcement job can seem like a lifetime and it's close to retirement if you're a fed. 18 years is a good run in my book. I'd suspect the dude had an exit strategy and has a new job (or a book deal -- he writes pretty well).

At any rate, I would posit that this guy's stance is very similar to what a lot of folks in many fed agencies think -- including a lot of FBI agents. And we all know what's going in our in local PDs and SOs. Guys (and gals) are voting with their feet, and going to departments whose philosophy is more in line with their own -- if they're even staying in the field -- many are taking totally different jobs (I know a former fed agent who's now a public school teacher and another who's a small business owner). Don't make the mistake of assuming that people in law enforcement are all good Nazis who will just follow orders. Most actually possess some critical thinking skills and want to feel good about what they do and who they're working for.

The agency, like most these days, has trouble recruiting qualified applicants. For a while, it was getting guys who'd read the book and thought they'd get the chance to go undercover and infiltrate an outlaw motorcycle club. Sadly, potential agents find out they're gonna be paperwork people and there's little glamor in the job.

I'm more worried about the mass expansion in the numbers of IRS agents the gov't is gonna be hiring.

People getting put in cattle cars at gun point didn't just all of a sudden happen one day. It was the culmination of years, decades even, of political, social, and government forces at work. During that time there were most definitely people raising an alarm to the direction they were headed and other people saying. "It's not that bad, you're crazy, things would never get to that point."

There have been plenty of examples of federal agencies being used to target conservatives, and a solid theme throughout the letter in the OP is the complaint about just that, how violent criminals are being plea bargained to avoid jail time and (conservative) people who violate an arbitrary firearm rule, or invent something that legally gets around an arbitrary rule, and have harmed no one, are getting more focus.

The very obvious politicization of our justice system is a major problem and indicative of significant turmoil in our country in the years to come.

A fair and impartial justice system is a very important part of our society, it is in many ways a foundational cornerstone of our society, because if "good" people don't believe they are going to get a fair shake from a fair and impartial justice system, they will not submit to being judged by it.

Another way to think about that is, if people think they are going to get pigeon holed by the justice system because they are a conservative, they'll be far more inclined to turn into what the current government would describe as a MVE "militia violent extremist."

This ^^

Kind of like hiring on to an agency only to find out that it has changed so much that you can't respect its mission.
Yes...this is not just an ATF thing.^

Well, we say that female agent collect personal data, allegedly on her private phone. Hmm, as I recall, classified data secured in unclassified hands is illegal. How bout that?

Seems like the double standards mentioned in the letter.

Remember when Hillary had a secret server installed separate from official government provided one, used it to access classified material (basically giving the Chinese or Russia access to everything she accessed) and nothing happened to her because of it and we were all just supposed to act like it was no big deal, even though if any one of us did what she did we'd be in prison.

What you mean like they did at Mar-a-lago this morning and breaking into his safe.I want to see this warrant and the judge who signed it. This reeks of BS.
Really the list is never ending of breaks on their side. And the list is just as long of violations and obvious abuse of power against the other.

Anyone remember when the white house and Barry O was caught hacking into news reporters computers before he was even officially in office???
They caught his azz red handed... Nothing happened, its been business as usual ever since. Google it, its hilarious how the sides portray this. "Delete key stuck" etc. Then others even politically left sites will say it was a true hack and worse than expected.
Just standard operating procedure!

I learned during the Obama presidency that Obama could do no wrong and that anyone who criticized him as the treasonous anti-American POS he was, was racist…
