"I will take into consideration the will of the people"
This too was a lie.
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.

Hell to the Eff yes.
I hope this is a start to the whole west coast throwing all this bubblegum out. It's going to take law enforcement and little local judges to stop the madness.Hell to the Eff yes.

Murder etc def higher in Chicago. But Seattle leads the nation in burglaries by far. Portland in top 3 in the nation in other thefts. Socialist government no prosecutions revolving door for career criminals here.Yep Illinois is a lot different than here. Murder/crime rate is a lot more. They aren’t interested in reducing crime, they’re quite literally the party of “let violent criminals out of jail or never prosecute them to begin with.”The anti-gunners always try to claim moral superiority on this topic. When we say "what you propose won't solve the problem", they counter with "well, at least we're actually trying to do something about it!" And on that point they aren't wrong - our "pro-gun" legislators have not been proactive at proposing solutions, so from a public perception standpoint they come off looking obstinate, cold-hearted, and closed-minded.
The best defense is a good offense, so why don't we fight fire with fire? Get Republicans to draft a counter-bill, one that actually does stuff to address the problem and shows the public that there are better ways to approach this than with a ban and a prayer? Such as...
- Increased criminal penalties and elimination of plea deals for violent felons in possession of or attempting to acquire firearms.
- Adding firearm safety, conflict management, and situational awareness to school curriculum
- Subsidizing firearms training classes (the state covers a percentage of the class fee to encourage attendance)
- Providing tax incentives or other benefits to Washingtonians who complete firearm training classes
- Carve out exceptions in the mandatory wait law and private party transfer law for people with concealed pistol licenses, or those who can prove successful completion of a criminal background check within the past 90 days
- Increased funding for mental health services
- Modify existing red flag laws to restore due process to the accused, and establish stiff penalties for intentional false reporting
Seems like this in concert with a properly managed PR campaign that has a poignant theme like "Don't just 'do something', do something that WORKS!" would go a long ways toward addressing the problem and correcting the perception that pro-gunners are obstructionists.
I am 100% aware, I'm referring to how it might play out in public perception. They aren’t interested in reducing crime, they’re quite literally the party of “let violent criminals out of jail or never prosecute them to begin with.”
The banning guns thing is the actual goal and they’ll use any excuse they want to help the sheeple agree.
In numbers, gunowners are a large voting group. Unfortunely, they are not together on many issues or just don't give a sh*t about politics or gun rights. Many gunowners (liberal and conservative) are to blame for the losing 2A battles.Blaming Californians is a straw man argument. The culture has been changing across the nation for decades There were tons of liberals in Portland and Seattle long before California migration happened. The real fault lies with everyone who didn't keep the traditions alive, who didn't fight gun laws even when they didn't affect them.
I am from California and the people there blame everyone who migrated to the state for the taxes and stupidity. It's easier than asking "What could I have done to fight this?" Toward the end of my time there (summer 2016), the CA state legislature passed a series of anti-gun bills collectively known as Gunmageddon.
That fall, I was one the knotheads who spent his time trying to gather petition signatures to get propositions on the ballot to overturn Gunmageddon. We failed miserably. Why? Because for every signature we got we had 10 people refusing to sign for reasons such as "I'm not political" or "I don't want to get on a list." and worst "I'm not registered to vote." And this was at a table set up at a gun shop! This wasn't illegal immigrants or people on the street refusing to sign. No it was gun owners actively not wanting to get involved. I will also add here that not all of the gun shops would even let us set up tables at all. Compare that to folks like Dan @Sporting Systems or that fellow with the shop in Federal Way. Guys who are putting their livelihoods and possibly their freedom on the line to fight 1639 or the magazine ban.
Blame Californians or Jehovah Witnesses or Martians if you want but the real truth is this: We gun owners are our own worst enemies
I'll go further and just say they are parroting phrases that sound good. I don't like snakes. I can tell you why. I don't like high taxes. I can tell you why. Ask an anti gunner what it is they don't like about guns and 99% give you a word salad of nonsense. "An AR14 weighs more than 10 boxes".They aren’t interested in reducing crime, they’re quite literally the party of “let violent criminals out of jail or never prosecute them to begin with.”

I used the term “word salad” to describe a manager’s answer to a simple question. The manager didn’t know what that reference meant and asked me to clarify. I said, “it means you said a lot of words and phrases but ultimately all of them strewn together still don’t answer the question.” The manager really likes me now. Maybe Neil Degrasse can explain why anti-gun ideas makes sense. He nailed covid.
Useless Bi****, just another communist IMHO.She meant the people who give her money.
