ARTICLE: Why You Already Own a Special Purpose Rifle

What is your opinion? I have just began reading into SPR's and I am not sure if I want to repurpose one of my rifles for that nature. I am content with my 10.5 pistol (cheapo Anderson/PSA), Bushmaster (post-Remington) 16" XM15 Carbine, and Aero complete 16" Mid-Length with Front Sight Post.

First "RECCE" was the fad, now SPR. I just can't keep up with my rifle game.

I was just speaking in terms of what appears to be the fad. Not what actually came first. The gun community in CA seemed to put all the hype on a RECCE set up, and now it seems SPR's are the trend. To me it all seems the same...

I personally wouldn't mind an all purpose rifle, but when I was in the Army - I had a standard 14.5 M4 and that seemed to work just fine. I was in an Engineer unit and we had our crew-served gunners and M4's. No DMR's existed in my unit, so these are out of my purview, and I'm just trying to gain some insight.
