I would however argue that a musket can be accurate if....
One uses a proper fitting / sized round ball and patch.

And yes I know that the above was not the norm with military loading training and usage.
Paper cartridges with an undersized round ball or paper cartridges with a "buck and ball " load being used most often.
As the thought here was to keep fouling down and to throw as much lead into the direction of the enemy as possible , as fast as possible....then fix bayonets and finish him off.
