Arms industry on edge, urges election eve gun purchases
Arms industry on edge, urges election eve gun purchases

With Election Day nearing, the <broken link removed> chain has launched a huge "Election Sale" on firearms, promoting the industry's bid to keep Hillary Rodham Clinton and other anti-gun Democrats from office.

The shop I worked at always had a presidents day sale but never an election sale.
I hope they get record sales but that is just my opinion.

I always bought stuff at 4th of July but never on election day maybe it's time to start.

Yeah my personal opinion is that the people who have the most to gain from a panic, should prolly just keep their traps shut before it happens lest they kinda come across as sleazy used car salesmanish.

'On Edge' - over what? I'll agree with the 'Clever marketing opportunity' previously mentioned.

How is 'urging election eve gun purchases' a bid to keep HRC and 'other democrats' out of office?

Sorry - this is bordering on the sleazy/cheezy.

Aside from the expected sleazy marketing from any company given a circumstance, I think the point they are trying to bring out is that if Hilda gets elected then this may be the last of the easy times(as we currently know them) to purchase any kind of fire arm. It's the writing on the wall. Gander is just the messenger.

This is my third Presidential election cycle since I got out of banking and started working within the firearms sales industry, (pawnshop, gun shop and sporting goods store).
I think we can all agree that in prior years, sales skyrocketed as did the price of AR-15s. I am therefore surprised that sales have been flat and no significant price increases.
A friend pointed out that Republican supporters think they will win so they aren't buying anything and the Democrats don't buy guns anyway. Time will tell.

And it's a thin border. Maybe it would make sense if they were donating a portion of sales to the NRA or some other pro 2nd group but as it stands it seems more like a corporate version of the guy with a sign bumming change at the freeway on ramp.

I would have rather seen the headline read...

"Arms Industry kicks in major bucks to fight Clinton and save their own BUTTS" ..
rather than turning this into an opportunity to make their last profits off of us. We sure as hell have been supporting them over the years..why not a little more reach around now in return.

Screw em.....if they can't invest in their own survival more than what they are doing...buy used.

Gander Mountain?

-I tried to order some .22lr from them that had been posted up in "great deals". Like most folks, there computer let me order it, then promptly canceled the order as out of stock.

No problem, it happens.

...but just last week I got a nice letter from them letting me know that my Gander Mountain credit card is pre-approved! Yippee!...into the shredder that one went...

Kinda what I figured happened when my order was canceled...marketing scheme...but one that will surely backfire on them with loss of customers. I've been to a couple a Gander Mountains back East (Tennesee & ?South/North Carolina). Nice stores, along the lines of in store stock like REI/mini Cabelas. Unfortunately due to these types of marketing tactics they will not get my business when I'm back East, nor on the Inter-webs.

I have a strong feeling Clinton Ban 2.0 will prohibit the person to person sale, and there will be no sunset clause this time...
Oh most definitely. If there is one thing they have learned in the last twenty years is don't let the sun go down. That's what makes the new "supremes" so important.

This is not Australia and anything Hillary tries to pass (even if the beast could) will fall on deaf ears. Americans will choose to labeled enemies by our domestic enemies...and when one thinks about it, what does it really mean when a domestic enemy calls a Constitutionalist American an enemy. It means nothing.

Today is different. This whole country is moving left. The number of conservatives is dwindling. We now even have openly socialist candidates being elected. Big cities are now sanctuaries for criminals. The liberal idea of justice is now more important than law.
Point is... Hillary's ideas are falling on many more ears that are not deaf. Those ears are much more receptive to her message.
