tI end it in or near Chicago several times a year and usually am careful about where I go. I considered public transportation, especially the train pretty safe. I've even taken the 'L' (Chicago transit system) from O'Hare downtown if my meetings or event was downtown. Well, there was just a robbery on the train from Midway: <broken link removed>
Don't think I'll be trying to save a few bucks by taking the L any more. A cab ride is $60 each way. Sounds like a lot unless you figure out what it would cost if all of your credit cards, identification, and cell phone were stolen.
