Make sure that you check the website for Vancouver PD. That was always my go to for a Washington permit but the last time I went to renew they were not processing out of area/state permits. As I recall, it was a staffing issue.

I was able to do the whole process by mail through the Cowlitz County Sheriff's office. Sent all the correct forms and my money and within a couple of weeks I had my new permit.

Mine was a renewal so I don't recall having to submit a new set of fingerprints, only proof of identity and address along with the old chl number. Most local police agencies can/will provide fingerprint services if you ask.

Cowlitz County now has an on line application process for new and renewal permits. Documents can be uploaded, presumably the fingerprint cards as well.

I'm thinking about going to a local range/gun shop to get the training but curious about the application process. Just figured it'd be nice to have for when I'm traveling the states.

Some states recognize the AZ cpl.
But certain states only recognize it if you are a AZ resident.
South Carolina for example.
Only recognize the AZ cpl if you are AZ resident.
If you live in OREGON and have a AZ cpl.
They don't recognize it.

I got the Utah also but it only is recognized in certain states. AZ would cover some of the states that Utah doesn't.
But only if you are a AZ resident.

Take OR for example they don't recognize the WA cpl or the Utah or the AZ .
They only recognize a OR cpl

Go to South Carolina or some other states and you are not legal.
Only certain states recognize them.
Some states only allow you to carry if you are a resident of that state.

I go to South Carolina every year so I was going to get the AZ cpl to carry there
But with research I found out that.
Because I am a resident of WA .
Even if I have a AZ cpl .
They DO NOT RECOGNIZE IT.
BECAUSE I AM NOT a AZ resident.

It works for me. I can carry in the 16 states in which I travel.

All the ones in red you can not carry with a OR and AZ cpl

Like I said some states will recognize other states but only if you are a resident of the state.that issue it

But if you are a resident of AZ they will recognize your AZ cpl

Sheesh, I highly doubt 98% of Californians have a CPL.

From what I have researched.
The main reason why some states don't recognize other states cpl.
Is because some don't require a class.
Like WA no classes required.
Shall issue state.
As long as you are not a felon.
They have to give you a CPL.
AS FOR THE REASON WHY THEY DON'T RECOGNIZE UTAH'S.AND AZ.AND OR.
I don't know why because you have to take a class for those.
Probably has something to do with they don't get money from you.
