I bet! As long as you don't get snappin' turdtles…lol. They will snap your whole head right off! Otherwise, your doggies may end up loving them.
We get them in the neighborhood but havent had one in the yard yet. Yet. I do get copperheads and rattlesnakes though. Tripped over a damn copperhead in my garage once. That thing got real nasty when I was cutting his head off.

This is Izzy. 18 months, Smart, loyal, Stubborn, Leads with her teeth but has never bitten anyone. I suspect it's her breeding. Originally advertised on Craigslist as purebred and $600, one look told me she wasn't, took her for $100 'cause we liked each other immediately. DNA showed her as 49% GSD, 32% Belgian Malinois, 11 % Australian Cattle Dog, and 7% Border Collie. Turning out to be a good dog

Cat understands we are not alone. We have never been alone. She also has no regard for my TV viewing. Like sitting behind a very tall cat in a movie theater.

He is adjusting about how one would expect, the first night was hard for him, in a new place with strange people and new brothers who are not sure about their new little brother yet! Had to stay up almost the whole night with him, he couldn't calm down and sleep, he was scared of all this new stuff and was panting hard all night. Next morning we went out side to do business and have a little kindercollage, learning must start immediately if you are going to have any chance with a dog like this. After Morning chow, we did more basic training, and then took a big Ol Nap! After nap time ( My Cofveve time) we went outside to play and to run some of that endless puppy energy out of him, and he learned to fetch a tennis ball successfully! Back inside to terrorize his new brothers, and then another nap, this time in my lap, You know how this will end!
Night two, he slept for a couple hours, having to eat and then go outside right after, then back to sleep for a few more, rinse and repeat. so far, so good!
The Teef started right up promptly at 5:15 A.M. right after his morning business, and it's been non stop Teef since, it's going to be fun, but he will learn soon enough! Can't wait, wife and I have a running bet on which of us is going to need stitches first, winner gets to stitch the looser! LOL Shouldn't get that bad, this ain't my first Malinator pup, though this guy is a few weeks younger then Hans our 4 year old Mali when we got him! Right now, I got a 13 pound bundle of Floof and Teef in my lap, getting ready for bed time!

I have only had a Cockatiel. Inherited from a daughter who found out she couldn't have it in her apartment. He became my buddy and spent most of his waking hours on my shoulder. He would sit there while I was coding and I would talk to him. One evening I guess I asked him, "What do you think about that"? He looked at the screen, cocked his head, looked back at me and said, "What do you think"? He also knew what, "Don't bite meant". After 6 years as my friend he was buried at sea in Desolation Sound. :(

Pet birds are certainly not for everyone but, they can make fantastic pets when they bond to humans. We have had a few over the decades. This one we have now takes to women faster. He was hand fed as a baby by two women. So when he first opened his eyes it was women who were feeding him. He is HEAVILY bonded to Wife. He likes me fine if she is not here or I have food he wants. Any other time he wants her. I keep telling him i'm the one who bought him but he seems to not care :s0140:

I love both cats and dogs.

I think it's awesome that humans and some animals can cohabitate and rely on each other.

I have had great cats and dogs over the years. It's true that cats are less likely to be a great pet, but I've definitely seen dogs that I wouldn't be able to deal with.

Currently, no pets in my home.

I want a dog to be my buddy, but my wife and I work, and leaving a pup pup at home for 8-10 hours isn't good at all, for their mental health or for us having to clean up after a pet who didn't get the potty break they need.

A cat is a better choice in our situation, but I can't take it off-roading or camping with me, unless I find that rare 0.05% cat that behaves more like a dog. I am looking at cats for adoption, it's pretty easy to tell from their pictures if they are crazy or chill. It shows in their facial expression and state of their pupils if they enjoy the company of a human when that human is bugging them for photos
