The halfwits in state government tried something very similar to this in Washington state around 1996. It was called I-596. I got mad and got involved and come voting day the smart folks of WA state defeated this by an overwhelming NO vote of 80%.

Last 3 times I got pulled over, one was for my car backfiring from the computer croaking, the first thing the cop asked me was if we had weapons on us, since his computer told him we were 35 willies. Told him I did, 9mm in holster under my coat. He tells me to keep my hands away from it and get out of the car. He was cool after that, gave my wife a ride to work after searching her purse and work bag, even though she told him she did not have a weapon on her. He was kind of a dock about it, he does not work in that agency any more.

Next time was a state cop for a burned out head light, told him I had a CHL and a 9mm, and my wife had a .380 in her pocket. He says thanks, no problem, fix your light and have a good evening sir.

Another was a non functioning brake light on my box trailer. Basically the same response as the stater. May as well just tell them upfront rather than let the computer tell them, which it probably already has if the dispatcher has not as well too.
