Are Primers really unavailable?

We all have seen bricks of primers for sale at crazy prices, where are they getting them? The small gun stores/ammo store are able to get primers before the general public. They are hoarding them and only selling to their best customers who are posting primers at crazy prices per brick. If this wasn't some what true then you would see two packs for sell also but you don't. These retailers don't want to ruin their repetition at the store level. Most big box store only sell 2 packs per customer.

Not unavailable but hard to find. Midway had some for sale not long ago. Price was probably pretty high, but when you figure in Covid and Global Supply Chain I still picked some up.

I've been able to get some from members here at decent prices. You got look in the classifieds and act fast

They are available here and there for three or more times the precovid prices but they sell out very fast. Prices won't come down until primers sit on the shelves for weeks or months. We are a long ways from that happening.

I think others are preparing now for the next time we have a shortage. That is one reason why I expect the primer supplies to take a long time to recover. And we have a bunch of new reloaders coming on board.

I picked up some crusty remington primers that were in little wood trays. Haven't tried firing any yet but I hope they still work.
