are MAGPUL AFGs legal for an AR pistol in WA state?

Hey all,

I have seen many people use the Magpul AFG for their AR pistols and was wondering if there were any laws in WA stat that prevent me from having one.

I know that the actual forward vertical grips are illegal but are AFGs okay?:huh:

i cant cite a memo, but as i recall, VFGs are defined as forward grips by which you can wrap your thumb and fingers around in opposing direction, and therefor the magpul AFG is not considered, BY THE ATF, to be a VFG. contact your state AG for any local rulings.

This document was posted by the recipient over at ar15.com back in December. The last question in the document answers your question but keep in mind that the ATF changes their rules so what is OK now may not be OK in the future.

That one could be interpreted differently by various "enforcement" people. I'd feel better checking with them first and asking for written authority to cite if some bureaucrat or regulator says otherwise.
