I just saw can't remember where but they are saying that gun prices are going to go up if you know who gets elected, how bad do you think it will be? Do you think that if she gets "emergency" bills passed they could sky rocket, could SHTF and all out civil war start, could it lead to martial law? I'm really concerned about how this is going to affect us all. Sorry was in hurry should have read "Go Up" After thought, if the bills call for confiscation I was just telling my wife what Sheriff is going to order to his deputies to confiscate guns? It has to lead to a conflict I think.
"Emergency bills" at the federal level would be martial law as executive orders don't have enough weight behind them. The fear of undue regulation or of prohibition will drive the panic buyers initially I think.

My favorite toy store has seen a slight upturn in sales but they feel it is more towards the hunting season than the election but then I am in Idaho and do not have the issues like you folks in Washington, Oregon and Nevada.

I would worry about the changes in state laws first then the election. Even though there will be a panic (undetermined amount) Like others have said if you do not have it now you may be a bit late and have to ride out the storm.

I feel this is where many folks are with firearms (they bought while cheap) now folks are looking for the add-ons and ammo.

I agree, the immediate threat is at the state level. Here in Oregon one party rule (rather than governance ) for many moons has left us particularly vulnerable. The school of thought that California style repression is something to be emulated is especially puzzling.

I'll just say this too all who responded, they have been stacking the courts with their picks for years so they don't have to appoint too much more as for the house of reps I guess it remains to be seen.

Not that familiar with the Lincoln Co. Sheriff, but in Portland, Mike Reese would in the blink of an eye. He is in Gabby Gifford's group of anti-gun minion's. Not that it would really matter, since the MCSO has over the years been reduced to little more than jail guards and process server's, his office won't be involved operationally (other than Reese himself being a talking head for KATU as this progresses)

I see a lot of references to the various, vocally pro-gun Sheriff's who won't support confiscation...that and about three bucks will get you a small cup of coffee.
When the time comes, it's not going to fall on Sheriff's Depts. anyway, (other than possibly blocking off the street in some areas for when the seizure teams arrive).

What we will eventually see is going to be more akin to drug house raids, administered and performed by Federally funded task forces, not door to door sweeps. They will be manned with multi-agency personnel (State, City, Federal) operating with fill-in the blanks warrants, generated from intelligence lists.

Intelligence lists ??? The information they likely are already gathering on you that will be formed into profiles of likely ban resisters (you know.."deplorables") These profiles will be prioritized by the refined data they come up with on you such as....
buying habits (how many times have you dropped a card down at "Kurt's") neighbors, your kids friends and teachers, your ticked off ex-spouse and in-laws, your doctor's office, and the big one.....

Informant info. Remember that second cousin of your buddy that showed up at your house when you guys went out for a day of shooting ? Well, he was stupid last week and got caught with banned contraband sporting goods. Now he is faced with a big whopping government fine, loss of his job and maybe his wife. But, he is now seated under a bright light in an interrogation room with Agents "Friendly" and "Helpful". They express to him how they don't like what this new law is doing to good folks like him and how sad it is that his three kids will soon be out on the street, because the house is going away. If he could just do something to help them help him. Perhaps he could provide some information about other people who possess these terrible things, that could make his troubles go away.

A lot of decent people are about to be converted in to felons, because they believe their Constitutional rights are unalienable. The time is coming when they will need to think like a felon if they want to survive this.

Placing ones hopes solely with the comments of some pro-gun Sheriff or the "XYZ pay me dues-Firearm Guild" is a waste of time and money IMO. We saw how effective those were last year. There is no cavalry waiting over the hill to save us, for just a few buck$ more..

The rules are about to be changed by individuals who don't share the same values.

I'm guessing on-line sales of ammo and or parts could become casualties in fairly short order. Limits could be placed on how much ammo you could buy at a time, increased taxes and fees, limit interstate on-line ammo sales, make ammo sales subject to background checks and face-to-face at a gun shop only. States, counties, or cities could impose increased taxes for guns and ammo. And the old standbys still apply, registration, then taxation per firearm owned, then maybe confiscation.

So, like others have said, get what you need now. Firearms, ammo (self defense AND practice), parts, cleaning supplies. Anything you need now, or might need in the future ...... get it. There may come a time when even trying to shoot a little will become nearly impossible because of the inability to re-supply even just your ammo. Many people say a minimum of 1000 rounds per firearm. I read 1000 rounds per firearm you don't use and an additional 1000 rounds that you use and practice with and replenish as needed. Some say more, some say less. But if you cannot get something like toilet paper in Venezuela, then you can never have too much when you can't get it.

This is in addition to everything else not even related to firearms you might need.

Interesting times we live in.

I think that the far more likely (but much less exciting) scenario is that more and more regulation gets enacted each year. You get to keep your guns but passing them down gets more difficult and expensive. One or two generations from now very few people own guns anymore because it's too much hassle. Once the number of gun owners drops low enough, and with a Supreme Court that will not stop it, then the actual full-out prohibition starts.

Unfortunately I think Flopsweat is on the scent. An outright ban is a ways off. It'll be 1000 cuts through bureaucracy. It will still be legal to own guns but too inconvenient and expensive for us common Proles.

Here is my report from behind enemy lines in Kommiefornia.

Gun stores down here are all packed with gun owners looking to build their armories up, as well as first-timers buying ARs and AKs. Alot of people taking their firearms safety tests too- so it seems that more people than usual are trying to get their semi-auto sport rifles before rifles with the bullet button are banned on 1/1/2017. Ammo however is still in decent supply, despite the looming Ammo Registy bill (Prop 63) likely to be passed into law in 2017- that law won't take effect until 1/1/2018, so Californians haven't really grasped how serious the consequences of this law will be until September-October 2017. But if you really want to see how things could become nationally if Hitlery becomes President, Kommiefornia is a good model of a Socialist government plans to take guns away from a nation used to owning firearms and using them in an unrestricted manner.

As far Ob1's assessment of how Hitlery plans to grab guns from armed citizens, he is spot on- she will coerce LEOs to conduct weapons seizures under threat of loosing their jobs and pensions. And if they conduct raids on once- law abiding citizens expecting them to just lay down their arms with no resistance, guess again- it will be a blood bath on both sides. Once the raids start and gun owners realize they tyranny taking place, look for networks of armed citizens to coordinate and strike local municipal and state government offices- in effect starting the Revolution our Federal Government thinks would never happen. Sad to say alot of once law-abiding citizens will die, but so will LEOs- this will make them refuse to conduct these unconstitutional raids, join our side, and help us to remove any liberal government representatives who forced bloodshed to occur. At this point, American gun owners will be so enraged they will march on all capitals, and remove those Socialist representatives from office. Many people will die on both sides- but at least it will mark the end of a divided two-party system of Government that wastes so much time and money on bureaucracy and often acts in a contradictory manner in both domestic and international policy.

Look at the bright side, folks. People who are hot to buy in the face of a future ban, are probably not going to turn them in when the ban comes around. The rational thing to do in the face of a ban is to sell all your guns before the ban happens (rational in an economic sense, not in the sense of self-preservation). So, what we are seeing is people more and more determined to hold onto their guns, no matter what.

It is still a good time to get some items. Been seeing 30rd mag sale all over and lots of other items so it's not to late. I'm going to try and purchase what I think will get outlawed first.

I have to say I'm no fan of Hillary but the world we live in changes. You may want to focus your frustrations at her, but you have to realize there has been some tragic events. They are the cause for the momentum. Nobody want that kind of violence where they live, it's time to be mature about the issues.
I feel like with Hillary I may lose my 30rd mags.
But with Trump I feel like I will lose everything else.
