No fading, rips tears or degradation of any kind that I can detect. I've had it for about 7 years and used it about 5 times. This pack has pockets and compartments for days. Arc'teryx knows how to build packs. Smoke free home and well cared for. It's difficult to convey the potential and the capacity of this pack when it's empty as seen in the pictures below but it is truly a marvel to behold once you start loading it up.
