Hey Folks,
I have a set of Level IIIA Curved Steel plates from AR500 Armor. I purchased these plates new in 2014 and they've been sitting in a plate carrier indoors for the past few years. Really great condition. They are ultra thin (0.2"....see the picture next to a Quarter) and very light; weighing in at 4.8 pounds each. They have the anti-spall build-up coating and are curved for a comfortable fit. AR500 is a company that actually has an NIJ rating for their armor, unlike a lot of knock off retailers.
This armor is rated past .44 Magnum and, unlike Kevlar soft armor, protects against blades and cuts.
These plates would be great in a low visibility carrier, for the truck, or a spouse/loved on that can't lug around a ton of weight.
A great addition to protect against ALL pistol threats!
Size: 10" x 12", curved.
