I have a Bushmaster AR. Its new, but after the first firing, I noticed that the upper and lower has a lot of play in it. Why is that, is that normal, i don't recall any of my other ones i had has the same issue, even if it is an issue.

Not an issue really, lots of them do it, not that they should, they just do.
Come find me at the Gun show this weekend and I'll give you an accu-wedge.

Accu-wedge. Sounds like something I used to hand out in grade school! Haha

The 23&P allows up to a .020 gap between the upper and lower. The width of the lugs effects how much 'rocking' you feel also.

It's normal, has zero effect on accuracy and is easy to correct.

Yep, its annoying if the AR has a lot of play, but does not affect anything. Accuwedge will do the trick.
