On a shorty you really do need to run something heavier, like barrier-blind loads or Mk 262. The only reason I have a 10.3 Mk 18 in my briefcase rather than a 12.5 GL/SSC-style is that the former was the biggest thing that would fit, and even then I had to move to a very large case to do it.

I built my pistol in a 7.5" and ran a heavy buffer, it's been a few years so I can't remember which one. But it runs flawlessly, with a big fireball.

Wasn't concerned with power issues, and this is more of a mall ninja CQB gun.
If I wanted to shoot past 100yds I'd go to one of it's big brothers.

No clue what buffer weight is in my 7.5" at this point. Matter of fact, I'll weigh it right now.
The OW barrel come with an adj GB. A double (allen) jam-set-screw thing

7.5" 556 has more than 22 mag and probably 5.7. Up to 50 yard engagements you'll not only get easy accurate hits, you'll also blind them and deafen them!

This guy was a lot of fun. It went on to a family member.

1" results on paper at 100 and not that loud with the Noveske Pig shoved under the rail.
