Off topic now that it sold. But do you need tools to take off/put on the XDS bipods? It is confusing because they sell a QD version too

No tools necessary. Tightens by thumb. It's the big lug you can see underneath the logo in the pictures that screws tight by thumb. It actually secures very well.
