So I took my barrel nut off so I could remove the delta ring to fit a free float rail.

After putting the nut back on I've noticed that the gas tube is not perfectly aligned in the port on the upper.

The BCG slides in and out fine. Is this small misalignment going to cause me trouble or should I try to align the barrel nut a bit more?

You're fine, so long as the gas key isn't striking the end of the tube. You'll note the key is flared and the tube is tapered, to accommodate minor alignment issues.

If you slide the carrier in and out of the upper and can feel it HITTING, though - then you'll want to realign the tube, which means carefully bending it slightly.
