AR assembly question

I am looking for some advice on what to purchase for AR assembly. Magpul bev block, or an upper vice block.

Either will work, but I've used my el cheapo gun show table upper vice block many times and see no reason to use anything else.

After watching a YouTube showing the merits of the Magpul bev block, I would buy the bev block over the upper vice block.
Magpul has cleverly figured out a way to eliminate the added expense of an action rod.
You do have to remove the bolt from your carrier to lock in the bev block, but that's not such a big deal for most folks.

How bout lube on the barrel, yay or nay and what flavor

I use Lithium grease. It's high temp rated and I've got a bunch of it around the shop.
