Can anyone think of a reason NOT to make an AR-15 in 22 Magnum?

    Would you buy one?

    Just a thought.

I like the idea of it, But i would not buy one.

The main reason i have a .22 ar is for cheap shooting. Although the .22 mag is still cheap to shoot compared to the .223, it isnt cheap enough for me to buy one.

.22 mag ammo is $.18 each.
    .223 ammo is $.38

Even though it is $.2 more, I can reload them and get the costs down close to that of the .22 mag. And i get a lot more performance.

Now i would take one in 17HMR for squirrels. Even though the same argument can be made against 17HMR.

The 22 magnum is cheaper than the fn 57 and its ballistically equivalent. I don't know if I would buy one but I don't think it would be a bad idea.
