Bought my latest M&P40c and the trigger was awful. 7lbs and gritty.

Other M&P40c is 5.5lbs and less gritty.

Bought an Apex Tactical sear for it for $40 and just installed it. Brought it down to 4.5lbs from 7lbs, but it is still gritty. Much better.

With the older M&P40c slide on the newer frame with the Apex sear, it is 3.5lbs and much less gritty. So something in the newer pistol's slide assembly is causing grittiness and heavier pull.

Just weird.

But at least the trigger pull is down to somewhat normal levels.

Will be going to the family cabin on Wednesday and doing some more accuracy testing as well as reactive target shooting.

Are you referring to a 2.0 as the new one? I have a 9c 2.0 that's unmodified and am interested in the apex trigger.

Could it be that the older one had lots more trigger time so slide parts are broken in?

Both are 1.0 M&P40c pistols. New one has a safety.
Older one only has 50 or so rounds through it.
I believe Apex makes one for the 2.0. I replaced the sear and not the trigger.
