Ape caves snow free yet?

Thinking about going up above the Ape Caves this weekend for some hiking.

Has anybody been up that way recently and is the snow receding?

I would like to try and find out so I don't spend the time to drive up there and then have to find another spot to go.

I have gear and not worried about the snow for me but I'm bringing the wife and she is not an avid hiker (though she is expressing interest so I don't want her to have to deal with snow our first time out together in some time).

2400 ft elevation and in the 40's at night so I bet the snow is gone. You'll just have to drive up and see

uncle told me, use the exit entrance first...alot easier to get out and take a coat

Bring at least 3 flashlights....... 1 is none etc. You won't see squat with no flashlight. The rock climbing is a blast.

I do that on a normal day


I'm not actually headed for the caves, just the winter park area just north of there.


Good views once you hike up to some of the peaks
