I have plenty of IMR700X powder for loading shotguns. Was thinking of trying some for 45 loads. It's extremely clean burning. Listings run from 4.4 to 4.9 grains 700X for 45 ACP.
Has anyone tried this powder for 45? Will be use for plinking/targets in a 1911.
Yea, my buddy's dad used to use it for reloading the keith nose 200gr SWC's that are so popular with 1911 shooters (I use them myself) but I've gone to clays powder instead. It's a good load, that's pretty much what I shot all through high school.
I used it in 45. Very clean and very accurate. It was my favorite range load powder for accuracy. As I recall it did not meter too well using my RCBS dropper.
