Anyone run optics on Ak's ?

I have been thinking about putting some optics, probably EOtech ( or chinese clone ) on my AK and was wondering if anyone here had any thoughts.

I like the clean line of the Irons but is is a BIZZZNICH to Aim and adjust.

That looks like a killer setup for an AK. I'm just curious, I don't actually know, isn't it bad to replace the iron(s) with an electronic device that can fail?

Look it has the rear Iron built in, So you can still use the Irons if SHTF..

And I would keep the original in gunbag with wrench for replacements.

I used to run a simmons red dot on my wasr-10, I had it mounted on the top of a quad fore rail, which didnt give the greatest sight picture.

Maybe it's just me, but I've always thought that's just wrong; like looking at pics of naked men.

Isn't putting optics on an AK akin to Z rated tires on a Geo Metro?

Not really A nice red dot set-up would be perfect for under 150yds.. Anything is better than the sights on there.

I may have to try this but went with theU ltimak on moe of my MAKs with a Comp M/L Aimpoint. I AM VERY HAPPY with this set up. I like Burris for strnegth in their regular scopes but their electronic offereings have not impressed me for strength. I would like to see this in person.
