Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
buckshot is better than slugs imho. slugs travel throgh walls too easily, may be taking out people in the next room or 2 by accident. winchester 00buck, low recoil is my choice.
I have a Stoeger Coach Gun next to my bed for just that purpose, one barrel has a slug and one has buck shot. Great guns, fun at the range. Mine shoots slugs very well.
Thanks for your reply - do you leave the Stoeger 'cocked & locked'? That is, with rounds in the chamber and the (internal) hammers cocked and the safety on?
That is what I like about the Norinco Coach Gun - it has external hammers. (And yes, I am assuming that the hammers can be safely decocked and the gun can be safely stored in that condition).
