Anyone have a Benelli R1?

My brother is looking for a hunting rifle that has managed recoil. He has a bad right shoulder, and wants a rifle that might take up some of the recoil.
I read on the Benelli sight that the R1 has about half the recoil other auto loaders have. He's looking at the .30-06.
Anyone of you have any experience with the R1?

I have talked with several guys who do have one and they all say that the "comfortech" stock ( I think that's what they call it) makes a world of difference. They are spendy, but everyone I have spoken to abosolutely swears by them.
