You can use a loaded Round, color it with a white board marker, and load it in the chamber, when you Eject the round. You can see the spiral marks against the marker. And then measure the round.

Yea, the poor man's check. I get it, and yes, before you do that, you make sure you are using a stripped bolt with the slide off. No Firing pin. Extractor is also optional. This would far down on my preferred methods of checking.

I ended picking up a no-go and field gauges on ebay. Thanks for those that replied.
