Anybody heard of these safety bulletins?

From bottom of appleseed project prep documentation:

1. ** Due to a gun industry safety bulletin, .17HMR semi-autos are not recommended.

2. ** Effective immediately the use of Smith and Wesson M&P 15/22'S at and Appleseed are hereby temporarily prohibited due to recent safety issues.

Of course, there is no specific mdl for which .17 semi, nor cite for reference, nor date stamp to indicate currency, and I cannot locate any specific off WWW.

This was in reference to the Remington Model 597 (of course its a Remington that is involved).

Weirdly enough, doesn't seem to be an issue for savage.
