Find out where your local TSA sends their seized goods for disposal.
Here in WA, there's a surplus warehouse that sells off the knives taken during screenings. It's near Olympia, by the airport.

I've bought Swiss Army Knives there for as little as $2, mostly in the $3-5 range. Usually gets picked over by regulars within 5 minutes of opening, but I've found some gems in the rubble.

You should be able to find knives with usable parts. Some people buy them to swap busted or badly worn blades with other parts from donor knives.

I've even managed to find tweezers for knives I had in the bins. Toothpicks I buy new off Amazon.
