I know it's an ancient thread, but it does bring up something that has always confused me a little. Five dollars off of a cheap lower gets some of us excited, yet the only use for that lower is to spend hundreds of dollars on the rest of the parts for it.

I learned a long time ago that sometimes it's just about the numbers, not actual money. We might feel great about saving ten bucks on a lower, then spend a thousand to finish it. The ten bucks was negligible in the grand scheme of things.
