Does anyone here know if there is any meaningful work being done to

(1) Ensure that our supply chain is relatively immune to disruption

Kind of hard to accomplish when your Secretary of Transportation is taking maternity leave, vacationing in Portugal and otherwise hiding from his responsibilities

(2) Secure our southern border

Ha ha ha ha ha ... Good one!

(3) Secure our electrical grid from terrorist attacks and EMP/CME

No they're busy trying to dismantle it

(4) Decrease our dependence on other nations for oil and medicines

Yeaaahhh... Not happening, as Biden keeps depleting our national oil reserves to gain political points.

Or are we, as a nation, ignoring these issues while simultaneously fighting a proxy war with a nuclear-armed Russia?

I'm pro 2A, but if anything happens that shuts off our supply of food, electricity, or medicine - the "mostly peaceful protests" we recently witnessed are going to seem tame compared to what a desperate and well-armed populace might do to each other.

I'm glad we have the Second Amendment. But I don't think our guns are going to be able to feed us. We need to be working together to fix the issues I mentioned above.

I'm hoping someone more savvy than I am can tell me about people/organizations who are working towards our national security. I could use some encouragement.

Sorry but the reality is this administration appears to be more interested in furthering China's goals than preserving the safety and prestige of the United States of America

Slightly off topic but.......VA is having a difficult time acquiring some prescription medications. 2 weeks ago was told one of my scrips was not available and to check back. Checked back on Friday. They had what I needed but while I was waiting for the script to be filled I watched and heard a dozen of so vets being told their scripts were not in stock or they were sent away with a partial refill to hold them over until additional supply became available.

My post is not meant to slag the VA. I support them 100% and am grateful for the work they do.

I am certain the problem is industry wide. I'm saying what's coming goes beyond food. Food prices are sky rocketing and availability is a problem I have seldom seen in this country. Most people in this country have forgotten that as recently as 1960 famine killed 100's of thousands (millions?) in China.

Most of your drugs are made in China.

So, the recent craziness going on there is affecting deliveries to US.

Oh, and hope you are cured of whatever you've got by the time China and US go to war over Taiwan. Because I'm pretty sure China won't ship us our meds.....

Most people haven't forgotten; they never knew.

Mao's China was presented as good socialism by large swaths of the academy throughout the 60s. Communism was just another political philosophy. The great leap forward was simply modernization; any hunger problems were a result of the weather and just proved the need to modernize! Dissenting voices to that narrative were dismissed as right wing kooks.

The political class saw the USSR as the threat and supported efforts to cause division between the two largest socialist states. Culminated in Nixon's trip to China in 1972.

China itself was a closed nation; the CCP worked and largely succeeded in keeping facts of what was happening in the country from getting out to the wider world.

All those things (along with most Americans having little interest in foreign affairs) created a profound lack of knowledge about the famines of 1959-1961.

The death toll from starvation, related disease and violence resulting from famine was in the tens of millions. 40 million is a widely accepted figure.

In modern China, there is resentment about the opium issue and it does get stoked every so often. So, imagine my surprise that China manufacturers fentanyl and ships it here, and barely even offers lip service about reigning it in.

CCP definitely could stop fentanyl, they have the ability to stomp it out (unlike in USA) but they choose not to.

Every US administration knows this, and they do nothing to change it. Wonder why? You don't think politicians somehow profit from the status quo? Nah, they truly care about us.

Said this years ago, well before Trump, when it was "debatable" where the fentanyl coming in from Mexico was sourced. The "century of humiliation" is still powerful propaganda today. All the more powerful because it's true; the British went to war to ensure their merchants could import opium into china, forcing the Chinese gov to make it legal. Britain, by force, facilitated the creation of millions of Chinese addicts over decades.

I've no proof, no doco, nothing official, yet am certain in my own mind that vengeance for that is part of the motivation.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Hunters (or Bidens brother Jim's) DNA was found on those classified documents found at Bidens home and office at the Penn facility....and the documents were related to the countries, entities or individuals that Hunter and the Biden crime family were doing business with.
