Antique Trade pistol..Circa 1850's-1870's.
.56 Caliber smoothbore...I have shot this pistol using :
30 grains of 2F , a .15 patch and a .530 roundball with good results at 15-20 yards.

Lock works are nice and crisp with a loud "Click" at half and full cock...springs , sear , tumbler etc... still have a long life ahead of them.
Wood is sound with some older cracks with period repair...no new cracks / stable wood.
Swivel ram rod...
Lanyard ring appears to my eye to be a replacement...
Unsure as to maker...looks English to me.

Trade interests :

Dragoon
1851 Navy
Or 1860 Army revolver...

Out of curiosity, what is the cash value of one of those?

What I have seen from the internet and gun shows where similar pistols have sold...they went for somewhere between $750 and up....
Right now there is one for sale on a site that I like for over $2000....
Please note that I do not value my pistol at that ( $2000 ) price.

It is difficult to place a dollar amount on antique firearms , which is why I would rather trade than try to sell.
Any of the named items listed on my trade list start around $700 and up...My pistol for one of those items is a fair trade...
If hard pressed for a price on my pistol...I say around $700 + or -
