Actually, ~800,000 others elected his gun-hating butt to the chair. My vote had nothing to do with it.

May 2014 registered voters:
820,283 Democrat
651,112 Republican
491,217 Non-affiliated (whatever that means)
191 Americans Elect (whoever the bubblegum they are)
3,372 Constitution
99,188 Independent

Strange. Oregon must be the only state in the Union without Libertarians, possibly THE most pro-gun party in the Known Universe. :s0001:

There is at least one ;)

As for 'Non-affiliated', it simply means you're registered to vote, but don't align with a particular party. Biggest problem with choosing anything but Democrat or Republican is that primaries are closed in Oregon, so you don't get to help vote for those candidates. There is a petition underway this year to put it on the ballot in the fall to open up the primaries to all voters, not just 2 particular parties. It might be interesting to see if that goes anywhere.

Just watch that idiot Jerry Brown in California try to sell himself as being pro gun because he had the "courage" to veto two gun control bills he felt were to far reaching. Never mind the fact he signed about fifty others that crossed his desk.

To the OP's question, yes they ARE trying to distance themselves from the freedom suppressing damage they've done.

After watching him sit on his bubblegum and let the Iranians hand us our asses.

History repeating itself?

Must be fewer than 190, then, since "Americans Elect" made the cut to get their own category. :p

Just wait for that whole "Top two go on the ballot" thing to kick off - you'll NEVER see a candidate who doesn't have the Mainstream Stamp Of Approval.....
