"Lawrence Clark... an organizer... says a tracking system for ammunition could help law enforcement solve gun violence crimes as homicides and shootings surge in Philadelphia."

Hey, Larry... did you bother to ask any cops about that, or did you just come up with it on your own?

Yeah. That's what l thought.

"Intellectuals" are among the most foolish and useless members of any society, and I believe they produce more "greenhouse gas" from all the sheite they talk than any coal-fired electricity generation plant ever could.

'Intellectual' is like 'Progressive'. Both mean just the opposite. Intentional abuse of language to manipulate.. Or so it 'Would Seem' to the 'Common Sense Observer'.

Just like I just did there. 'Would Seem' is wishy washy and leaves an out, it renders the statement as not definative. 'Common Sense Observer' instead of 'A Factual Assessment Proves It'. The term 'Common Sense has been denigrated so much that it has lost it's potency or even means the opposite of it's original meaning. How can one be an 'Observer' if you are the intended victim.

The whole mislabeling, misstating, misusing, and denigrative association within language to manipulate is an old advertising trick. A trick that is clearly adopted by the 'Intellectual Progressives'.

Fortunately this trick in the end backfires. The lie becomes so obvious that the term becomes self denigrating to the point of eventually meaning the opposite.

I expect we will see more kids then ever being born if these child tax credits are made permanent. It will be like pushing out an ATM every 9 months.

Reloading should become more popular among criminals or a black market for unmarked ammo anyways.

How about y'all stop acting like gangstas and being no better than dogs in heat popping out kid after kid by a different woman every time, and when you DO have a kid how about y'all get your minds right and do the right thing by that kid and raise them proper?

That'll do more than ANY law or regulation EVER would to curb what's going on.
90% of what you say applies to 90% of the world's population....

The quandary that has its roots at the beginnings of humanity.

The ideologue begins with the solution and forms the facts to fit as required - results are inconsequential so long as the objective is achieved.

The true intellectual begins by accurately defining the problem and reasonably considers the cost/benefit of any action.

Plato proposed the philosopher-kings as the ideal ruling class - the problem is that philosophy is seldom if ever embraced by those with lordly ambitions.

Power is the end state. Thus the individual must be subjugated to the collective; self defense cannot be permitted.

That's fine. The second people rounded up, imprisoned and executed after a communist takeover are the intellectuals. Right after the loyalists. Every time. Wonder why?

Ideologues or actual thinkers?

I expect that it is both the sycophants and the timid, who went along to get along, who both perish with the too late vocal few to quash any dissent and consolidate power while instilling fear.

A true 'Intellectual' should know this at this point in history, which brings us back to the fact that actually 'Intellectuals'... Ain't.

Tracking ammo.. kind of like wanting to track knives and hammers.. because they too are used in murders.

Thoughts:
1 - There is an obvious problem in the black community, but too many Americans prefer political correctness and feelz and racism propaganda over truth , so we aren't having a conversation that obviously needs to be had.

2 - America pioneered legislated unconditional equality for all persons on planet earth. See the 1960's and later. Discrimination is illegal here. Affirmative action programs give competitive advantages to any non-white person willing to apply for college or a job or a promotion. If you aren't white and you compete against a better-qualified white person for college admission or a job or a promotion, you will win. Nuts. A recipe for failure.

3 - The entitlement system locks "victims of inequality" into a life of economic servitude. All colors.

4 - With few exceptions, murder rates are higher in armed societies. IMO, this is because people are hard to kill unless you have a gun, and then they are easy to kill. BUT, if you remove guns from a murderous society, that doesn't mean citizens in that society will stop killing each other. The murder rate will probably go down some because it gets harder to kill people, but the black market will meet demand for criminal guns just like it does for criminal drugs. And, law-abiding citizens will be less able to defend themselves, so criminals will have freer reign. And, the non-firearm murder rate will almost certainly go up. As the graphic above shows, the non-firearm murder rate among some groups is already quite high; higher than the combined firearm & non-firearm murder rate in other groups.

Is it hard to imagine that the rate of non-firearm murders in America would increase if guns or ammunition vanished overnight?

After last year, are we to expect that law enforcement agencies will keep law-abiding citizens safe from criminals with black market guns after all other guns get banned?

America is a mixed race society. It is extremely unlikely that that will ever change.
Racism is a problem in America, in all directions.
Presently the spotlight is too narrowly focused, and pointed in the wrong direction.

I can't think of very many neighborhoods or communities in America where black people could expect to be accosted or assaulted by white people for simply being in the "wrong place", but every major city in America has hoods where white people can definitely expect to be accosted or assaulted just for being there. Say again, who is racist?

Racism is not a white-only problem. It's not a black-only, brown-only, asian-only, or any other "race"-only problem.

It's a people problem, and it won't go away until we confront obvious truths and stop entertaining lies about victimhood and start applying common sense to society-wide changes. We need to cut the crap. America is not going survive much longer on its present path.

IMO.

Firearms increase the lethality of violence overall, so I'd say we'd expect the number of knifings and other violence to go up to compensate and we would probably see a change downward in the homicide rate due to reduced lethality. I wouldn't expect much change in the level of violence or suicides.

That's really not the point.

It's hard enough when Media/Politicians/etc continually conflate "murders", "homicide", suicide and accidents, when making anti-gun claims based on some statistic. Heck, the States can't even agree on how to count what as what (never mind how other Countries report/count when we are given un-verifiable "comparisons").

Are there any reliable statistics that cover how many individuals were shot/killed every year...
...that definitely NEEDED shooting?

Really, just how many were shot and killed committing violent crimes, either by police, other criminals, a victimized citizen, etc. ...?

for instance;
a 70 year old homeowner shoots and kills a pair of violent repeat home invaders in his kitchen at 3 AM...
- in Seattle, WA. it's treated as a First Degree MURDER
- in Kansas City, OK. it's treated as a Justifiable Homicide
- in Lewiston, ID. it's Pest Control

Tell that to the victims of all those increasing knife attacks in China….
