Here's a partial list of Federal bills that are anti-gun, 2A, etc and are STILL 'on the books' per se.. The bills have been introduced but may not have been acted upon. YET....I can not stress that enough!
The list below is ONLY the list of bills 'related' to H.R. 5717
The related bills from or on ANY bill(s) is mind boggling to say the least.

I would urge all to view the bills and contact your elected Rep with your views. Stay Diligent!
Here's a link to help search all aspects of pending legislation or perhaps 'your' rep and what they've sponsored or co-sponsored. It's an eye opener!
I'm still finding anti-gun/2A bills that have been introduced I've never heard of using the link.

Dan

If you can't pretend not to notice that, out of 25 or so bills, only one comes from someone with an R after his/her name, at least be good enough not to comment on it here... its not a pattern or anything, purely coincidental. Both sides do it, right? Can't blame one side or the other... right?

The Toomey bill wants to federalize what I understand to already be state law, albeit largely ignored by LE. Very few (if any) lawfully denied prohibited possessors are ever pursued, much less prosecuted. It's not a priority.

I disagree bigly with more federal power and openining up jurisdiction. Just because he has an R next to his name doesn't make his bill palatable. Opposition will vote against it claiming racial bias.

The way I see it. Anti gun = Anti 2nd A = Anti American

Rrrright…...they get away with it because many Americans believe that the 2nd A actually says.....

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, unless I say it's reasonable.

Not to mention...... that many Americans also believe that the 2nd A was put there to protect the sport of Deer Hunting.

Its-all-about-Deer-Hunting.jpg

Ever hear people or some politician(s) say (words to the effect of)???

"I believe/I support the 2nd A however/but......."

Rrrrright.....
If some people and/or politician(s) wants to change the Constitution that's one thing and they're free to try it.

H. Res. 702 I learned of today. Granted the resolution is from Nov. 14 2019, but like the others listed, it's still out there. Sponsored by a woman named pressely from Ma..
The utter idiotic garbage in her resolution is absolutely dumbfounding.
Just for your humor, some excerpts:
  1. begin a large-scale decarceration effort to reshape the American legal system
  2. and expunging the records of individuals for all drug-related offenses;
  3. no prison time for most offenses where the person does not cause or intend to cause harm;
  4. ending the criminalization of Black and brown students in school,
  5. identify and make recommendations of people in Federal facilities who should be considered for clemency consideration by the President;
  6. repealing provisions in Federal law that criminalize migrants for irregular border crossings,
  7. ending draconian systems of mandatory detention and automatic deportation;
  8. capping prison sentences for all crimes,
  9. ending the death penalty,
& I can't stand any more... Just Nucking Futs! Someone/bodies:s0037: elected this moron.

Nah, they just focus on the term "well regulated."
Too bad for them that regulated doesn't mean what they think or would like it to mean:
The quoted passages support the idea that a well-regulated militia was synonymous with one that was thoroughly trained and disciplined, and as a result, well-functioning. That description fits most closely with the "to put in good order" definition supplied by the Random House dictionary. The Oxford dictionary's definition also appears to fit if one considers discipline in a military context to include or imply well-trained.
