I decided to give this a go again. All fastex buckle mod on an early 90s Woodland Medium ALICE; using salvaged USMC Duraflex Coyote Brown buckles and Ranger green bonded Nylon T70 thread; using the trusty Singer 15-91 as the wife is still napping. Previous owner of the frame left paracord handle and MOLLE II shoulder straps and belt. I swapped straps for ALICE LC Enhanced pad set in Woodland, and replaced metal spring loaded buckle straps with OV Innovations' Improved LC lower straps. I might swap metal frame for a new polymer one from Down East Inc... either a 1606AC/MC (FILBE) or a 1609 Open Perimeter Frame (MOLLE Medium).. not sure yet. 1609 would require modding of bag so I can anchor the frame tops... and possibly add a crossbar. 1606/FILBE would be easiest. This bag would likely be one of my regular bags if I don't use my self-made bags.
On to the photos!

Closeup of OV Innovations' Improved Lower straps for ALICE strap sets. I could make my own if I have the smaller Line 20 snaps in govt black, which are what the ALICE QD snap straps uses. Too bad they don't offer them with other color buckles... Coyote Brown, Tan 499 and even Foliage Green would all work pretty good with the camo.
