"About 5:45 a.m., a masked man about 40 years old walked into a 7-Eleven store near South 110th Street and Eighth Avenue South and swung a hatchet at a customer, said King County Sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West. The man then went behind the counter and attacked the 58-year-old clerk, never saying anything.

Within seconds, a customer pulled out a handgun and shot and killed the attacker, likely saving the clerk's life, West said. He was pronounced dead at the scene."

Armed citizen intervenes, fatally shoots hatchet-wielding man

A legally-armed citizen stopped a violent attack by fatally shooting the attacker this morning at a convenience store in King County, Washington and published reports quote a sheriff's spokeswoman suggesting that had the "good Samaritan not acted, we might have a dead clerk on our hands."

A good guy with a gun despite King county doing everything possible to prevent this outcome. I mean can't a deranged man kill a clerk with a hatchet without being in fear of their life:confused:?

Taking out the trash in Burien...

Considering there'd be video, no need for an investigation... Give the shooter the key to the city, have a public ceremony on the steps of city hall and let all the criminals know that they are not any longer safe plying their trade...

Watch out for us old guys, lots of trigger time and darn good morals and values to boot...
