LAS VEGAS (AP) — A man shot and fatally wounded a woman, then killed himself Friday at the Excalibur hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip, sending many patrons fleeing in fear.

Didn't really want this to be my first post, however...My wife was among those running in fear and diving under a table at a restaurant in the Excalibur Hotel. She was in Vegas Friday night for a bachelorette party. I was home here in Beaverton and got a frantic phone call from her under the table no knowing what was going on while she was waiting for the all-clear. Not fun being so far away and not able to help her. Unfortunately that all-clear never came as their security protocol was to move all the employees to a safe zone while leaving the patrons with no idea what was going on or anything. This event really spooked my wife in addition to the events that occurred the same day in CT. She came home that night (which was a day early) and finally gave me the go ahead to get a CHL. So here I am doing some research.
