This rifle was purchased years ago, and has the finest bore of any 8x56R rifle or carbine I have seen. The bore slugs .329/.314 and is mirror bright with sharp edges to the lands and a visible leade. NO corrosion or pitting! It was manufactured in 1916 (M serial range) and the trigger guard/magazine assembly, bolt, and rear sight stamped with Steyr "K" markings. The receiver and barrel are marked with the Austrian eagle proof.. The gorgeous walnut stock has been restamped to match the rifle and is in excellent condition; the stacking swivel/bayonet lug is stamped matching. The handguard was previously numbered 42431 and is color-matched. The rifle is 50.5 " long and weighs a little over 7 lbs, which really hurts when one touches off the 206 gr. bullet at approximately 2400 fps; oh the joy of a straight stock and steel butt plate!! I have approximately 2,000 rounds of original 8x56r ammunition in clips and boxes. No, I do not want to sort through and high-grade the dirty bird clips. I'll also include a set of dies. I'd prefer to sell the lot, rifle and ammunition, for $1400 - that's half the market rate for the ammo. Buyer pays transfer fee at Tropics in Vancouver. I will throw in a proper Austrian Steyr upper-cut bayonet with repro frog. 20170423_120441.jpg 20170423_120632.jpg
