Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
If you are going to have someone shoot a gun...any gun...it is important that you have them hold the gun properly and safely.
Giving someone a gun and having them hurt themselves or their pride ...will not get them to shoot a gun again...in fact it may even turn them against guns.
As for shooting your gun in the air to scare a threat...its both dumb and dangerous...
Just where did your shot or bullets go?
Now you may be deaf and could have a empty gun...
Maybe the threat has a gun ...and wants to shoot you , not a warning shot or a shot into the air...
In the words of Tuco from The Good , The bad and The Ugly:
"If you have to shoot , shoot , don't talk..."
I will however , if I can , tell the threat to leave me alone , that 911 was called .
But that's it...no warning shots , no trying to "scare" or bluff the threat away etc...
And yes , I know every situation is different...I will react according to the threat and circumstances...every good plan is adjustable...
