I love all things firearm related, and one of my favorite hobbies to to buy/sell/trade firearms. We at NWFA have a unique opportunity to create an archive firearm values. Many people use this cite as a means to find values of a different items, and I feel that that some members do this community a disservice by deleting their adds, or hiding their prices after the item is sold.

Please do keep your FS/FT adds up after your item has sold. There is a "lock" option that lets your add be seen but does not allow for new postings. Yes, I know there is a plethora of other firearm value cites, however, many of the values posted on their are from years in the past. NWFA is constantly changing and adapting to the current market, while posts from 2005 are quite stagnant and out of touch with modern times.

I am I crazy, or do other people enjoy looking up what their new gun is worth/seeing what guns sell for?

I think it's a good point of reference if someone that is unsure what their gun is worth can look to, but cost also fluctuate based on the political environment. So in a lot of cases it has no bearing what a item sold for 3mths for

I think its a great plan that I fully support. If nothing else I like to see what is selling and for how much. I do understand privacy concerns but you can always remove any personal bits

Awhule back I fell in love with this AR pistol that I couldn't afford. When I starting buying again I look back in the archive and found it and used some of the same parts he used.
So I think it's a great reference or even just more gun porn.

I support it. When I'm buying this is the first place I look for gun values.
Maybe they could have a option to move the ads once sold and closed to a value section not everyone would use it but a lot would. That's what I believe anyway.

You would not the believe the number of little biches out there who will send you an angry message when you don't close out a for sale thread to their satisfaction. They click on something already sold and locked, yet they click on it anyway and then send you an angry message like you did something wrong.

You can't please everyone can you? I really liked Scrandall's idea to make a new section where old adds could retire. That would please the idiots who cry when an old add is still viewable and still be a good reference point for others who want to see values.

I always hated it when people deleted the price or blanked the ad out after it sold...but lately Ive had a weird feeling that I dont want big brother having evidence of what ive bought and sold...I habe my personal bill of sales etc. But lately ive been blanking my ads out after a sale
...I really do appreciate folks that keep all the info there..thats how I base all gun values... on what it has sold for locally...

Pretty good idea.
Could also have a subsection for "trending" or otherwise upcoming popular firearms..
What "may" go up in price or popularity.

I could have made a fortune a few times over seeing the start or a craze or popularity for a few firearms, mags, parts..etc. way sooner than before it became public knowledge.

Usually shifts in firearm craze swing with YouTube videos and forum buzz. Along with market innovations..etc.

Cool idea.

I like this idea. Firearm prices are quite different around the country. For instance bolt action rifles sell for much less here in the NW then in most places of the country. You only know that if you can check prices on this website.

Actually the originator of the ad should be able to decide the ads fate themselves. Leave it there and close it, or delete the info and close it. Their choice. Less tracks are what some folks like, then some don't care but it was theirs and they have that choice. Things like that are called living in America :)

By no means am I requesting that all adds be required to stay open or on the site. It is the users choice whether it stays up or not. I am simply providing a reason as to why people should keep them up. If others disagree then that is there position and they may do what they will.
