For all the AK guys, do the vented upper hand guards get hot, or do they help? I think they look really cool, but seems liked the metal would get hotter than the wood.

AK's are notorious for getting hot especially if you do the 300 round mag dump like in most of the videos. I am sure the vented gas tube would better vent the heat to some degree as there is more surface area but in a true battle probably not enough to make a difference or they would come with one already.

But if you think it looks cool and you like go for it but do not expect miracles.
